The physicians and surgeons of Central Nebraska Orthopedics and Sports Medicine, PC have been closely following the developments surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus).  The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) has issued new and evolving updates as more information is available.  To that end, the most recent guidance is encouraging social distancing as the most effective way to combat the spread of this virus. It is, for this reason, we are issuing the following:

If your primary care physician has referred you and feels the potential benefits outweigh any potential risks, please keep your appointment as per usual.  If you believe your condition is manageable and that there is no immediate need to visit the office, please wait to reschedule for a time less threatening to our community’s health and wellbeing.  If you are uncertain, please call the office and ask to speak with your surgeon’s medical assistant.  They will be able to help you decide the most appropriate course of action.  If you do keep your appointment, please help us to minimize your wait time in our lobby by waiting in your car until your appointment time.  Also, please maintain proper distances from others, wash your hands routinely, and cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing.  Know that only the patient will be allowed in the exam room and patient care areas (unless a minor accompanied by one adult guardian or if a caregiver is needed).

Lastly, please refrain from presenting to our office altogether in the event you have any of the following:

  1. fever
  2. cough
  3. Shortness of breath
  4. chills and/ or aches
  5. Any flu-like symptoms
  6. If you have traveled to areas known to have a large number of confirmed cases
  7. If you recently took a cruise (ocean or river)
  8. Come in contact with anyone with a confirmed case of the Coronavirus.

Again, the safety and wellbeing of our patients, staff, and community are of the utmost concern.  Therefore we believe it important to follow the advice of the experts in this field and incorporate social distancing as the spread of COVID-19 is arrested.

Thank you in advance for your strict adherence to the above requirements.
