Philip Cahoy, M.D.

Fellowship Trained in Sports Medicine • Board Certified

Dr. Cahoy is a native Nebraskan, growing up in South Omaha, attending the University of Nebraska Lincoln and medical school at the UNMC. He completed his residency at the University of Wisconsin and fellowship in Sports Medicine at the University of Missouri, Kansas City, and Kansas City Chiefs Professional Football Team. 

Dr. Cahoy is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and specializes in Sports Medicine and General Orthopedics. He is uniquely qualified in Sports Medicine as a Fellowship-trained specialist and a former Olympic athlete. Dr. Cahoy is a ten-time NCAA All-American, four-time NCAA Event Champion, a member of UNL’s NCAA National Championship Gymnastics Teams and was inducted into the USA Gymnastics Hall of Fame, class of 2001 and a member of the 1980 U.S Olympic Gymnastics Team. 

His athletic prowess and specialized training afford him a superior perspective with regard to treating athletes and sports-related injuries. 

Dr. Cahoy has clinics in both Grand Island and Hastings, Nebraska, with privileges at CHI Health, St. Francis and Mary Lanning Healthcare as well as the respective Ambulatory Surgical Centers. 

Dr. Cahoy is an avid sportsman, antique enthusiast, and enjoys mentoring his children in their own athletic endeavors.
