Dr. Hayden grew up on a family-owned dry-land wheat farm in rural southeastern Idaho where core values of hard work, patience, resiliency, and community were instilled. He completed an associate of science from Snow College then his bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University (Provo) in 2010, afterward working as an athletic trainer (ATC) for two years in Northern Utah. He obtained his osteopathic medical degree (D.O.) from Rocky Vista University in Parker, Colorado, in 2016. After a six-month internship through Stony Brook University at Southhampton, New York, he completed his Orthopedic Surgery residency training through WellSpan Health of central Pennsylvania (York, PA) graduating on July 1, 2021 (pending).
Dr. Hayden comes to the area with a strong desire to serve the local and rural communities with the goal of restoring functional independence at home, at work, and in recreation. He will practice general orthopedics and becomes board eligible upon graduation in July of 2021. His training had a strong emphasis on trauma and fracture care, hand, pediatrics, and joint replacements. Dr. Hayden enjoys treating the entire spectrum of orthopedics from pediatric patients to the elderly, from acute fractures and injury to chronic or degenerative conditions. He utilizes proven techniques ad technology for diagnostics, implants, minimally invasive, and arthroscopic surgeries (including ‘nanoscopy’). Additionally, his residency afforded him the opportunity to train with an emphasis on the leg, ankle, and foot. An incomplete list of the common lower leg, foot, and ankle conditions to be found here.
Dr. Hayden will have clinics in Grand Island, Hastings, and other outreach clinics in the central Nebraska region, along with privileges at CHI St. Francis, Mary Lanning Healthcare, Grand Island Regional Medical Center as well as the respective Ambulatory Surgical Centers.
