Tyler White, M.D.

Fellowship Trained Spine Surgeon

Dr. White grew up locally in Grand Island, NE where he learned the value of hard work and community.  He completed his undergraduate Bachelor of Science in Biology and Biochemistry at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln, then went on to UNMC in Omaha to earn his Medical Degree. Following medical school, Dr. White left Nebraska to complete his 5-year Orthopedic Surgery residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans, LA. This training opportunity afforded Dr. White a strong knowledge and skill base in Orthopedic Trauma/Fracture surgery.

During residency, Dr. White received many awards including the department-wide “Resident of the Year”, “Resident Teacher of the Year”, “Highest Orthopedic In training Examination Scores”, and the “Andy King MD Outstanding Research Paper Award” which contributed to him obtaining a competitive fellowship position at the internationally renowned Twin Cities Spine Center in Minneapolis, MN. This fellowship allowed Dr. White to learn modern techniques in spine care including minimally invasive, robotic, Scoliosis, and disc replacement surgery. He treats all types of spine disease from the top of the neck to the bottom of the back.

During training, Dr. White noticed that more rural communities were unable to have the same access to medical specialists as larger cities which led him to come home to Central Nebraska. Being able to serve a community of hard-working people and offer them the most advanced care possible is Dr. White’s career focus. He feels strongly that surgery is an absolute last resort for patients and takes pride in the fact that less than 1 in 5 of his patients end up receiving surgery. Aside from his work as a surgeon, Dr. White is an active outdoorsman and loves to hunt, hike, and fly fish. He also enjoys playing guitar, gardening, and spending time with his wife and dog.
